Project History
In 1970 Paolo Mancuso founded La Semiorto Sementi whose headquarters at present are in Sarno, in the South of Italy, in the Agro Nocerino-Sarnese area, a worldwide famous rural territory of Campania region. He already had an extensive and specific knowledge of the seeds sector, handed down to him by three generations of expert seeds producers. Many varieties of horticultural products, once famous all over the world, have been produced in this area for the first time after being scrupulously selected through the centuries by expert farmers. The firm has been set up to give more value to production of seeds for horticultural plants, flower plants and aromatic herbs. The firm is now well-known and prized in other countries too, and its success is due to professional skills, reliability and quality.
The firm has always been aiming for a high quality production, or rather, for a qualitative quality, in order to answer the needs of the most demanding customers. Since its foundation, La Semiorto Sementi has paid great attention to preserve and improve the genetic characteristics of the plants’ varieties. Both the high experience obtained through the years and the valid cooperation with experts have made it possible to improve the qualitative and productive characteristics of the typical Standard varieties. The farmers’ expectations are awarded with new selections and/or varieties that can best satisfy the demand of both the domestic and international market.
